Located in the southwest of China’s interior, with an area of ​​82,402 square kilometers, 94% of which are mountains and hills. Chongqing is one of the four municipalities directly under the Government of the People’s Republic of China, the first batch of Central national central cities and megacities, China’s inland financial center, economic center in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, and an important modern manufacturing base in China.

Chongqing is a famous historical and cultural city, the hot spring capital of the world, and one of the three famous stove cities in China.

In 2019, Chongqing has a population of 31.234 million, ranking 20th in the country. The GDP in 2019 is 2,360.577 billion yuan, ranking 17th nationwide.

The famous Three Gorges Dam is located in the jurisdiction of Chongqing. Chongqing has 26 districts, 8 counties, and 4 autonomous counties.

International Transportation Hub

Chongqing’s geographical location is very important. It is an international comprehensive transportation hub, an international aviation hub, and a shipping center in the middle and upper reaches of the Yangtze River.

Bridge Capital

Chongqing is the only “bridge capital” in China recognized by Mao Yisheng Bridge Committee in 2005. As of the end of 2018, Chongqing had a total of 14,000 bridges built and under construction, including more than 2,000 urban bridges and 38 urban bridges across the river. Chongqing Bridge has created 17 world bests, of which 8 are the world’s best at the time of construction, and 9 of them have maintained the world’s highest record so far.

The Economy

Chongqing’s economic construction has basically formed a pattern of coexistence of big agriculture, big industry, big transportation, and big circulation. It is the largest economic center city in the southwest and the upper reaches of the Yangtze River.
