Guangdong Province

Located in southern China, adjacent to Hong Kong and Macau. The provincial capital Guangzhou is the central city of southern China. Guangzhou is also known as the gourmet capital. Cantonese cuisine, one of the eight major Chinese cuisines, originated in Guangzhou.

The population of Guangdong is 115.21 million, accounting for 8.23% of the total population of the country. From 2009 to 2019, the population of Guangdong increased by 13.9 million. The main cities in Guangdong Province are Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Foshan, Zhuhai, Dongguan, Jiangmen.

The Economy

The GDP of Guangdong Province has ranked first in the country for 30 consecutive years. In 2019, the GDP of Guangdong Province was 107,671.07 billion yuan. The comprehensive competitiveness of the provincial economy ranks first in the country.

The output value of Guangdong’s electronic information, petrochemical and home appliance manufacturing industries in 2019 is 4.31 trillion, 1.51 trillion and 1.49 trillion respectively.

There are 5 international airports in Guangdong Province. It is the largest commodity exporting province in China and the largest importing province. It is also one of the richest provinces in China. In 2019, the export value of Guangdong Province was 4.34 trillion yuan.

Last year, the city’s total cross-border e-commerce import and export volume ranked first in the country.

Guangzhou has a trade accumulation of thousands of years of business capital. In recent years, cross-border e-commerce business has been ranked at the forefront of the country. Although Dongguan was ranked first in the country last year, cross-border e-commerce exports increased by 3.1 times in the first quarter of 2019. Competition between the two cities will also be more intense.
