Hubei province

Located in the central region of China. The terrain is dominated by mountains and hills, with an area of ​​185,900 square kilometers. It is located in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River and north of Dongting Lake, so it is called “Hubei”. The famous Three Gorges of the Yangtze River is in Hubei Province.

With a population of 59.27 million in 2019, it ranks ninth nationwide. The GDP in 2019 was 458.2831 billion yuan, ranking seventh in the country.

There are 13 cities in Hubei Province, the capital city of Wuhan. Hubei is known as “the province of a thousand lakes”. The lakes in the territory are mainly distributed on the Jianghan Plain. There are 755 existing lakes.

Minerals & Mining

Phosphorus, mineral salts, thenardite, gypsum, iron, copper, gold, silver, limestone, etc. are the minerals with advantages in Hubei Province. Peridot, iodine, bromine, garnet, rectorite clay for chemical fertilizers and diabase for construction rank first in the country. There are 57 kinds of minerals in the top 10 national reserves.

Industries

Hubei is one of the national industrial bases, and equipment manufacturing is an important pillar industry in Hubei. There are 105 enterprises above the scale of 10,000-ton shipping capacity in the province. In 2019, the port of Hubei Province completed a cargo throughput of 307 million tons.

Central Transportation Hub

Wuhan, the provincial capital, is one of China’s air transportation centers. Wuhan Tianhe International Airport is the largest and most fully functional modern airport in Central China. It is also one of the top ten airports in the country, with more than 200 air routes.

Optical Valley

Wuhan is the national optoelectronics industry base, known as China’s optical valley. The drawing speed and length of optical fiber and cable are the first in the world, and the scale output is second in the world.
