Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region
It is one of the five autonomous regions in China. It is located in the middle and upper reaches of the Yellow River in the northwest of China. It covers an area of 66,400 square kilometers. It borders Shaanxi in the east and Inner Mongolia in the north. Ningxia has a terrain complicated, which can be roughly divided into the Loess Plateau, terraces, plains and mountains.
In 2019, Ningxia has a population of 6.946 million, ranking 31st nationwide, with a GDP of 374.8 billion yuan in 2019, ranking 29th nationwide. Ningxia consists of 5 cities, the capital city is Yinchuan.
Resources & Industries
Ningxia is rich in energy resources such as solar energy, wind energy, coal, gypsum, and natural gas. Gypsum reserves rank first in the country and coal reserves rank fifth in the country. Ningxia is the main producer of Chinese wolfberry and the main wine producing area in China.
As of the end of 2018, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region has jurisdiction over 5 prefecture-level cities, 9 municipal jurisdictions, 2 county-level cities, and 11 counties; in 2019, the permanent population was 6,946,600, and the regional GDP was 370.518 billion yuan, of which the the first industry is 27.985 billion yuan, the secondary industry is 165.206 billion yuan, and the tertiary industry is 177.507 billion yuan; the per capita GDP is 54094 yuan.
