Tianjin
One of the four municipalities directly under the Central Government of China with an area of 11966.45 square kilometers. It is located at the confluence of the tributaries of the Haihe River in the North China Plain and borders the Bohai Sea in the east. Tianjin has three terrains: mountain, hill and plain, with plain accounting for about 93%.
Tianjin is a national central city, a megacity, the largest port city in northern China, a national logistics hub, and a core area for northern international shipping. Tianjin is the throat of Beijing’s railway to the Northeast and East China and the port of ocean shipping. It covers 13 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions in North China, Northeast and Northwest. It faces Northeast Asia and is the largest coastal open city in North China.
With a population of 15.6183 million in 2019, it ranks 28th nationwide, with a GDP of 14.10428 trillion yuan in 2019, ranking 23rd nationwide. “Tientsin” is widely used as the universal Spanish name for Tianjin, and has witnessed Tianjin’s most glorious period. Since the 1980s, countries that use the Roman alphabet have generally used the official Chinese pinyin name “Tianjin” as the spelling of the “Tianjin” name. “Tientsin” is only used in history, art and other related fields or informal occasions.
Seaport
Tianjin Port is the world’s highest-ranking, China’s largest artificial deep-water port, and the world’s fourth-largest comprehensive port. It is the main seaport of Mongolia and other landlocked countries. The route connects to more than 500 ports in more than 180 countries and regions in the world.
Industries
Tianjin’s aerospace, biomedicine and information industries and other fields of scientific research and experimental development funding input ranks third in the country. Tianjin has a developed industry and a complete range of industries. It is the birthplace of modern Chinese industry and an important industrial city in China.
Airbus
Tianjin is the Airbus A320 assembly line, Airbus A330 delivery center, and R&D and manufacturing base for the Long March V series rockets.
